2017 DRILL DOWN FOR SAFETYClick here for Official Drill Down for Safety Website to download forms etc.

It’s that time of year again, when we get together as a community and practice our emergency response skills.  The Drill Down for Safety is tonight, September 11th at precisely 6:00 pm.  At that time we ask for everyone in the City to respond to their Block Captains home. If you will be out of town or cannot attend that evening, please let a trusted neighbor know in advance so they can report that your family is away but accounted for. In an actual event, that little notification may save hours of unnecessary resources searching to determine your condition.

Please use the opportunity to connect with your friends and neighbors and make it a fun evening! The Drill will be used to test our communication capabilities and our ability to account for each and every community member. Our goal is to work through problems and make our mistakes as we practice drill and not in the middle of an actual emergency.

Lindon City will continue to lead in the effort of personal preparedness and as a city is dedicated to promoting safety and emergency preparedness efforts among its residents. Our efforts as a community are getting attention as each year more cities come to observe us to help develop their programs. Please participate in the drill and make this a fun event with neighbors as you practice together for that day which we all hope never comes!

Emergency Alert Notification
In coordination with our annual Drill Down for Safety to be held on Monday, September 11, 2017 the Lindon City Police Department will be sending out an Everbridge Emergency alert to all citizens who are in the mass communication system on Monday afternoon. The system works to notify citizens regarding information in an emergency as well as provide non-emergency information (the system has been in place since January, 2015).

This system allows citizens to "opt-in" (sign up) and provide cell phone numbers, email addresses, and other means to contact them in the event of an emergency.  It will also allow you to "opt-in" to receive non-emergency information by picking alerts from different city departments.  When you opt-in you create your own account which information is used to contact the citizen and is stored in the notification system and is not sold or shared to other vendors.

If you have not previously signed up in the system you will need to create a new account in the Everbridge system to receive any notifications. In an effort to make citizens aware of the opt-in information we have provided the link Everbridge Sign up to sign up for your account (if you have not already done so) and to opt in to the system. Help us to be emergency ready and be able to notify all of our great citizens in the event of an emergency!
