2016-17 Budget Proposal

The link below contains the Lindon City 2016-2017 (FY17) Tentative Budget adopted April 19, 2016. An updated Proposed Budget will be adopted May 17, 2016 and the final 2016-17 Budget adopted June 21, 2016. The public is invited to attend any of these public budget meetings.

Questar Project Update

Questar Gas is replacing a gas line on State Street in Lindon through to Pleasant Grove. This work is necessary to maintain the safety and reliability of the system.  No interruption to residents natural gas service is anticipated during this project. During construction crews will make every effort to maintain traffic flow in both directions on affected streets, but temporary lane restrictions and closures can be expected. Crews will work diligently to maintain access to businesses, driveways and sidewalks.

Notice: City Council Vacancy

The Lindon City Mayor and Council are accepting applicationto fill an at-large vacancy on the City Council.The term of office for this appointment will continue until 12:00 noon on the first Monday in January 2018, wherupon the position will then be filled by whomever is elected in the 2017 municipal election for the remaining two years of this positionterm. Those interested in being appointed to fill the vacancy until January 2018 must meet thRequirements for Office outlined in the application below, and shall submit a completed application signed in the presence of the Lindon City Recorder no later than Monday, May 23,2016 at 5:0pm.

Applicants for office will be interviewed by the Mayor and City Council in a regularly scheduled City Councimeeting to be held at 7:00 pm on June 7, 2016 at the Lindon City Center, 100 N. State Street, Lindon,UT. The Mayor and Council will then select an applicant to fill the vacancy.

Annual Memorial Day Ceremony

All are invited to attend as the community of Lindon will hold our annual Memorial Day Ceremony honoring all Lindon veterans for their military service. Each year, the Lindon City Police Department, with the full support of the Mayor and City Council, spearheads the effort to collect and authenticate the names of those who have done so much to preserve our freedoms. This effort culminates each Memorial Day as a spectacular, one hour program is held including a special message from an honored veteran, patriotic music by a Lindon Youth Choir, the reading of the role of honor, a 21-gun salute followed by the playing of Taps and the solemn placing of a traditional wreath upon the monument by an honored guest.

NOTICE: Lindon 200 South Road Closure & Detour Maps

Lindon City will be replacing an old water line along 200 South from approximately 1250 West to 1500 West. See attached map for details of detour routes for two planned road closures along 200 South. Construction will begin in approximately the first week in April and should end by mid-May. Businesses will receive a door hanger giving notice of planned water shut offs during construction.

Please inform delivery & truck drivers, employees, and others that may frequent your businesses or commonly use this route. Thanks for your patience during this project. City Center & Aquatics Center Parking Construction

The City Center & Aquatics Center parking lot is under construction due to the new Public Safety Building being built. 60 North roadway between State Street & Main Street will be closed and the parking lot reconfigured. Parking will be available in the lower City Center parking lot (Enter from State Street) or at the Community Center parking lot (25 North Main St.). Project ChildSafe

Project ChildSafe
 is a nationwide program whose purpose is to promote safe firearms handling and storage practices among all firearms owners through the distribution of key safety education messages and free gun locking devices. FREE gunlocks are now available at the Lindon City Police Department.

Illegal Spills or Discharge or other storm water concerns, such as storm water drain backups, dumping into the storm water system, etc. or if you are witnessing an immediate violation.

Lindon City has some surplus topsoil for sale and available by appointment for pick up at the Public Works Department at 946 West Center Street. The cost is $10 per yard. If interested please call 801-796-7954 between 7am and 3:30 pm to schedule a pick up time and we will be happy to load it in a truck or trailer for you. Thanks!

Secondary Water Information

Lindon has not restricted outdoor watering to certain days of the week, however, in order to conserve our limited water resources, we do require outdoor watering to take place between the hours of 6 pm and 10 am.  Thank you for observing these watering hours, and remember to turn off your sprinklers if it’s raining! Also, in order to prevent flooding, please make sure that our storm drains are kept free from debris.
