City Recorder - Britni Laidler


The City Recorder is appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. 

The City Recorder is responsible for maintaining records of all public meeting minutes, agendas, ordinances, and resolutions, and responding to requests for records.  The City Recorder is also responsible for the City newsletter and City website, as well as administering municipal Elections.  The City website provides access to Public Notifications, including City CouncilPlanning Commission and Committee Agendas and Meeting Minutes. Meeting Recordings and various other notifications including those listed above are also posted on the State Public Notice Website.

The Government Records Access and Management Act (GRAMA) 
Government Records Access Management Act 
is a comprehensive law dealing with management of government records. GRAMA states who has access to records and how the law is enforced. It is an attempt to balance the public's constitutional right of access to information concerning public business, the individual's constitutional right of privacy when the government gathers personal data, and the public policy interest in allowing a government to restrict access to certain records for the public good. To learn more about the GRAMA law, visit the
