Marilyn Simister, Boardmember
Marilyn Simister has lived in Lindon for 21 years with her husband Kevin. They are the parents of six children and 8 grandchildren.
Marilyn graduated from BYU in business. She has served on many community boards including the Lindon Character Connection, where she was chairman of the Tree Planting project several years ago, the Lindon City Library Board , local PTA and Alpine district committees, and was awarded the Lindon Woman of the Year in 2004 by the Pleasant Grove-Lindon Chamber of Commerce. She currently serves on the Lindon Planning Commission, the Lindon Tree Board, and as President-elect for the Utah PTA.
Marilyn’s love for flowers and gardens began in the gardens which both her grandmothers grew in Logan. Through the years her desire to learn more about horticulture has grown. She began the USU extension Master Gardener program about 4 ½ years ago and has received Master Gardener and two levels of Advanced Master Gardener certificates. She is also currently attending the USU continuing education program pursuing a degree in Ornamental Horticulture.
