NOTICE OF MEETING
FOR THE
LINDON CITY COUNCIL



It is hereby given that the Lindon City Council will hold a regularly scheduled meeting beginning with a Work Session at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 in the Lindon City Center, City Council Chambers, at 100 North State Street, Lindon, Utah. The agenda will consist of the following:

WORK SESSION - 6:00 P.M.
The Mayor and City Council will meet in a work session with staff and community business representatives to review the city’s sign ordinance, Title 18 of the Lindon City Code.

REGULAR SESSION - 7:00 P.M.

RECOGNITION - Specialist Jonathan Denton Alexander has been invited to the meeting after returning home from a year in Iraq. - 5 minutes
PRESENTATION - Alice Osborne, Program Director for “Children’s Way”, will present the mission of this non-profit family advocacy group which fights child Internet pornography and predators. - 5 minutes

MINUTES - The minutes of the regular meeting of August 15, 2006 and the special meeting of August 23, 2006 will be reviewed. - 5 minutes
OPEN SESSION - Citizens comments - 10 minutes
MAYOR’S COMMENTS/REPORT - 5 minutes
CONSENT AGENDA - No Items

CURRENT BUSINESS

1. Preliminary Plat - Francom Subdivision, Plat “A”. This is a request by Steve Francom for preliminary plat approval of Francom Residential Subdivision, Plat “A”, 2 lots, in the R1-20 zone at approximately 600 North 200 East. The Planning Commission recommended approved with a condition.- 20 minutes
2. Review and Action - Standard Land Use Table. The City Council held a public hearing during its meeting of August 15, 2006 to review this item. A few changes were recommended and the table is being brought back for final review and approval. - 10 minutes
3. Review and Action - Re-Appointment of Member of Planning Commission. This is a request by staff for the Mayor and Council’s consideration of the re-appointment of Jim Peters to the Lindon City Planning Commission. Mr. Peters has been continuously serving until replaced or re-appointed since his term expired in May of this year. - 5 minutes
4. Review and Action - Sewer Easement Agreement. This is a request by staff for the Council’s consideration of approval of a sewer easement agreement between the Kristine Miller Colledge Trust and Lindon City along the future Main Street from 600 North to 480 North. This sewer line was installed by a developer a few years ago, and this action will clean up the necessary paper work. - 5 minutes
5. Review and Action - Change Order Request #5 - 700 North Street. This is a request by staff for the Council’s consideration and formal approval of a change order which exceeds the parameters of staff authority. - 10 minutes
6. Review and Action - Request for Contribution of Sick Leave. The Administrative Secretary for the Community Development Department has resigned to take the new part-time position in the Public Works Department. She has asked to be allowed to donate her accumulated sick leave hours to another employee who is facing some health challenges. This donation of leave time requires approval of the Council. Staff also requests that she be allowed to start in the new pay range at the same step as she is currently positioned. - 10 minutes
7. Review and Action - Bid Award - Sewer TV Truck. This is a request by staff for the Council’s consideration of the bid award for the purchase of the new sewer TV truck which is included in this fiscal year’s budget. Bids were properly advertised and received for this vehicle and equipment and the low bidder is Cues at the price of $99,324.00. Staff recommends awarding the bid to Cues.- 10 minutes
