NOTICE TO RESIDENTS: Lindon secondary water for sprinkling systems should start to be available the middle to end of next week (April 26th-29th). Due to canal construction delays in Provo Canyon some central & western parts of Lindon may not have secondary water available until this weekend or possibly early next week (May 1st). The canal company will deliver water asap – but it will NOT be prior to late Friday, April 28th. The Utah Division of Water Resources is also publishing that no irrigation is needed yet for healthy plant growth. Check out their website updates here: https://conservewater.utah.gov/guide.html
Pressurizing the system usually takes a few days so some areas will receive water service before others. Please check your sprinkler valves to make sure your lines are turned off so that any broken pipes or sprinkler heads won't flood yards or homes.
Please remember the city policy is no outdoor watering between the hours of 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Studies have shown that 50% of water used during daytime hours is lost to evaporation. Watering on an every 3rd-day schedule is generally adequate for well-established lawns. Please remember to turn off automatic sprinklers when it is raining.
Warning: The secondary water is untreated water from canals, ditches and springs. DO NOT DRINK from a secondary water connection, and do not connect the secondary system to the culinary water system in any way. Cross-connections have the potential to contaminate your home drinking water and the city’s culinary water system!
